It was the usual story when I picked up my brand new car 2 months ago from the dealer - scrape on the drivers side door panel, both rear window seals not fitted properly, scrape on my nice new leather steering wheel, celophane not removed properly from the inside door handels and the left/right side skirts also the steering column was not fitted properly - talk about friday car syndrome!!. Off course u accept these so called minor issues and drive off with it, already booked in to have all of the above fixed.

2 weeks l8r an annoying creaking sound has developed when pulling off, braking, changing gears and going over bumps. It seems to be coming from either the front silver planel or the CD/Radio Panel and something is ratteling in the back. My car went in for its fixes and I also mentioned the creaking from the dash. I got it back with one of the seals fitted worse than before ffs! and a new creaking sound from the plastic surrounding the speedo dials, oh and the other creaking sound is still there. This is an authorised reputable dealer and so far have beem better than others I could mention!

Anyone experienced the same problems and have any suggestions? - Thanks.

I plan to take the car back to the dealer and give them one last chance to fix it.

Thats unreal. I just collected my brand new sporting on Thurs, and the creaking/rattling noise you mention from the rear and around the dials are exactly what I noticed in mine. The same scenario with the damage to the bodywork as well, the passenger door was covered in scratches. I rejected it and they did the bodywork before I took it from them. I bought mine from Motorpoint, I dont know what theyll be like for repairs etc. I suppose I could got to Vardy but had probs with them before?

As for the celophene, thats a problem I noticed in just about every sporting I have had a look at. Are all the faults you mentioned covered by the warranty? Who did you use to carry out the work?

it's interesting to see you come from glasgow, I live out beside the Airport.

Lads, name and shame the dealers who sold you these cars so we can all stay clear of them.

That creaking sound from the speedo is a bitch. Driving me nuts so I just turn up the volume. Going to try a neat fix on it. Let you know how it goes if your interested.

Anyway....lets face it - you are buying a fiat - loads of things to love but crappy niggles all the way.
