My horn hooted once & packed up.
Checking it out with a wire direct from battery horn was shot. Fitted a new horn (it works) replaced fuse under bonnet & horn is still dead.
looked under airbag & linked across horn connector - nothing. :-(
Any ideas?
If all else fails I'll run new wires to a new push button on dashboard. Anyone know the best way to get wires from engine area into the cabin. Passenger side looked hopeful but it's packed & can't heat at anything.

Update.
I was putting the crook lock on tonite and the horn blew. Took it off & horn stopped, but no way would it work again. So it looks looks a steering wheel issue.

Any tips on what to look for?

There is one long connecting wire all underneath the airbag is there? or do you have the sporting wheel. If so see if the connecting strip has split or cracked anywhere

Ill have a look in the morning as I dont know what punto you have (we have mk1s and a mk2 here) but on the Bravos if you are going to wire up a secondary horn, under the actual floor carpet in the passenger footwell just under the dash on the bulkhead, peel it back and there should be a circular rubber cover for the lhd market (clutch assembly Im guessing) on the other side the sound damping needs to be peeled back to gain access (but not fully removed) I have a load of wires rigged into my car for various horns and toys using this "hole" in the bulkhead.

Also if you are going to do this, relay the circuit or the switch/button may melt

Its the Abarth steering wheel - sorry should have said - 3 spoke leather bound with sort of triangular airbag cover/horn button.

Undoing the three socket screws from the back of the wheel allows the airbag to come away. The horn contacts are under the mounting screw clips and all connected to a flat cable. This connects to a small white cable connector with very fine wires. I linked across that white connector but got no horn sound so looks like fault is below that level.

I didn't take the wheel off the column as didn't want to mess with the airbag wiring.
That said, I didn't find the steering wheel mounting nut.

Agreed about the nut all I could see was a hollow flange that looked like a top hat upside down. I ran out of time and never thought to check for a hex or torx down the centre.

Does anyone know the horn wire colours from the car (steering column) side of the clock spring? I have a suitable push button switch and fitting that would be lots easier than fighting with the steering culumn/airbag etc. Some time later I can sort the clock spring but at least I'll get it MOT'd.

i have the same problem, havnt had it sorted since christmas. no problems with horn, fuse or steering wheel buttons. :s im lost with whats wrong with it tbh. i given up haha and don't know where im looking for this 'clock/brigde thing'
help would be nice please

Its gotta be under the steering wheel but like Reuzoath I need more info. The air bag will have to come off and be disconnected and if the clock spring isnt letting the horn work, what's to say its not boogering up the airbag.

Help please. Once the airbag and steering wheel centre boss are unbolted what do we need to do to get the wheel off - safely. I dont like messing with airbags.

same on our mk3 1.2 2004 punto..

one day no horn, changed clockspring, changed horn, relay working fine as can hear it click when I take off the relay housing top, today I got a new horn and STILL nothing...driving me mental!

although, this might be something for all to check, the cable that has the wiring to the horn in should be clipped into the top inside bumper all the way along..mine was unclipped and pretty much sat on the RAD..this weekend i need to get a multimeter and check to see if the wires are melted up...

any other ideas are mega appreciated.

I tested my relay ok and changed the fuse in the underbonnet box. Also faffed about with male spade connectors pushed into the relay output contacts and test leads. Still nothing but wasnt 100% sure I'd got a good contact.

It actually honked when I put the Krooklock on but I cant get it to do its again. :-(

Looks like wiring in one of these is the best option. There's space between the air vent and instruments pod and it's tough enough to not need a relay.
