I'm having a problem with the heaters on my 2002 MK2 Punto.

I have had the Temp Sensor and connector replaced.

When i'm driving for about 40 mins with the heater set at full hot on the cabin temp dial the EOBD light comes on and when the memory is read the error code is P0115.

Could it be a fault with the resistor on the heater switch or a problem relating to the heater wiring in general?

Any help would be gratefully received.

I have no mechanical knowledge at all i'm afraid.

What do you mean when you say ping the sender?

If a took it to my local Fiat dealer could they perform the diagnostics?

Would the EOBD need to be on for the fault to show though as at the moment the light is off?

A mobile auto electrician will be able to sort it out and likely to be the least costly option. Just confirm he's familiar with Fiats though anyone worth his salt will be happy with any car electrics.

Can you tell me where i would find the temperature sender and how much a replacement would likely cost?

Any pics would be a great help.

Quick Update:

Turns out the ECU is at fault.

It is recording a consistent 75c when temp sender is sending correct engine temp.
Tested temp sender by connecting resistors which where set to resistances equal to temperatures of 45c and 125c.

Thanks for all your help and advice. Just my luck it turns out to be an expensive fix and if ignored could lead to engine running on 2 cylinders.
