Hello everyone

I have a 2000 Punto,I currently have had the motor and linkage snap and so am in the middle of replacing it.

The problem at the moment is that my windscreen wiper will not pull off the spindle. I have tried to help it off with a flat head screwdriver and some wd40 but it simply wont move at all, it seems stuck.

I have taken the nut off, so it is just a case of getting the wiper off but it is proving rather hard.

does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for any help

Sam.

If you pull up on the arm, getting as much leverage as possible without bending it, whilst alternately levering under the opposite side with your screwdriver it will normally break free. If this doesn't do the trick it may help to tip some boiling water over it, trickle it on over a period of a minute or so to get a bit of heat into the bottom of the arm, then quickly try the previous method again. If all else fails a small two legged puller will do it.

You can get special pullers for wiper arms, though an adjustable 2 leg puller is a more useful for other pulling jobs.

me and my dad recently had the same problem trying to get the driver side one off on my punto!

We resorted to using a puller! Mine made an almighty crack when it came free so don't be alarmed if urs does too.
