Hi guys
My heater matrix seems to be blocked and I want to flush it separately but I can't remove the 2 hoses attached. I've tryed twisting, pulling with or without pliers but nothing happend. Do you have some ideea?
Thanx

symptoms are:

-blowing cold in the left side and warm in the right side
-slight temperature drop when thermostat kicks in (about one or two units)
-after 20 min of running it's blowing a little warm and stay's that way

I've completely took the coolant out 5 times and tried to bleed in a lot of different angles but with the same result one hose hot (IN) the other cold (OUT). But every time I took out the coolant some black stuff came out of the coolant. Looked like peeling paint. The larger bit was 5 cm x 1 cm. I dunno what is that but I thought it won't hurt cleaning the heater with a water hose.

The thermostat kicks in at half temperature gauge. No overheating registred on the gauge.

I've read all the posts and guides about bleeding and tried to do my best but that black stuff it's concerning so..... what to do?

problem solved.

Heater matrix was indeed clogged. It's working for now. I took off the hoses with pipe wrench and with a screwdriver bent like a hook. It took me half an hour for each hose.

thanks to all for help

Just what I was going to suggest. :)

A pipe wrench to twist the hoses and a bent screwdriver can be good for working under the hose ends.

Black sludge suggests previous owners have not been running proper coolant and metal oxides have accumulated.
