sure someone here will put you right m8,when mines packed up in my mk 2 punto,i never touched steering column,i just changed the power steering motor and my problem was solved (y)

make sure you disconnect the battery 15mins before doing any work on the airbag.make sure you got all the right tools. also keep the front wheels lined up straight so when you put your steering wheel back on its all on the straight and narrow :D

oh a lil tip when you get to the point where you have to take of the bolt at the bottem of the steering shaft. if the bolt is in a place where you cant get it out (like the footwell side is stopping the bolt from coming all the way out) dont worrie about putting everything back on to turn it. just pop the steering wheel on only and then turn it untill you can take the bolt out.
when you put the new coloum in and you put the shaft on again and the bolt in.just make sure you turn the steering wheel so its centred again before you actualy put everything back on.

iv done all this with my car so if you need anymore timps just ask me and il help soon as i can (y)
