Just changed the engine in my 03 punto. Swapped the brain from the original and all is fine except the fuel gauge reads zero and the low fuel warning light is flashing. Tank is full. Does anyone have any (preferably cheap) solutions for me please?

Check connectors on fuel tank sender unit (normally acessable under rear seat, fold seat forward, lift carpet/matting and lift circle cover off of floor ).

Disconnect the battery earth for a few seconds, then refit. If the Body computer is powered up without everything plugged-in it can 'glitch' and ignore the fuel sender signal. Failing that it may need proxi-alignment.

Thanks for that guys - tried both but still no joy. Guess it's into the garage for a diagnostic test. OUCH!
