Posts: 10 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 | Power steering issue on Punto MK2. Hi. I've had a bit of an issue recently with the power steering on my Y reg Punto 1.2v 8v. About 8 months ago the red steering wheel light come on. The thing was my steering felt normal. Being a bit of a tight wad I decided to leave it, seeing as the steering felt ok, which it did. About 2 months later the light just went off and stayed off. Great I thought. Anyway last Saturday the light came back on again. The steering seems ok, it still works and the city function works. I've read on the internet that its worth looking inside the fuse box and possibly cleaning the fuse contacts for power steering. Also, to look for any loose connections around the fuse box. Being a total noob at anything involving cars can anyone give me some pointers in how to do this. I take it if the car is turned off its safe to remove and inspect the fuses in the fuse box? Also, what number fuse is it for the power steering? Any other things I could check before I take it into the garage? Thanks.
