Just wondering if anyone knows which xenon lights are best to get. I only want headlights and been reading that the Osram nightbrakers seem pretty sound, but i don't want the blue effect, would prefer a standard brighter white light. I need a H7 bulb and if anyone knows best ones to get and where from then it'd help.

Also, i wanna tint my rear back lights, but been reading on here and there don't seem to be too much explainin on what to do if you wanna do it urself? Do i need lacquer and apparantly you can get 'tint spray' from halfords or somethin, so just spray lots of layers on?

Cheers.

Firstly Osram nighbreakers are just a brilliant white

powerbulbs are a good place to go for lights, have a look on there

Spraying your rear lights is a fairly easy task.
The spray is about £10 from most places and just needs a few coats dependant on how dark you want the lights. Just be careful though as if you go over your reflectors its illegal so if you do cover the full light you will need to stick a red reflector somewhere on the rear of the car

Right ok. Just had a look on powerbulbs and the nightbreakers still seem pretty popular so you reckon i should just go for them? Only 20 quid a pair which aint too bad and i'm only after the 'brighter white' look like you see the new audi's and stuff.

Is that from halfords? and do you think i need some laquer as well? How many layers? And yes i was gonna leave the reflectors, already looked up that, like the legality ****. Did you tint yours yourself?

as regards to rear light tints , try using a pair of ladies tights ..
strange but heres mine

Interested in tinting my rear lights as well, so a decent bit of advice would be good.

Only just fitted some nightbreakers to my car; can't tell the different in terms of looking at them from the outside, but whilst driving the improved visibility is brilliant. I picked up some H7's for about 12 quid from Ebay, only to find my new headlights took H1 :p

I tinted my back lights and there is not a certain amount of layers to do, Jus keep doing it until there as dark as you want them.

Also make sure its not cold or damp if your sprayin them outside as the paint wont set properly and will mess them up and leave 30 mins between coats and spray a good distance from the lights as the spray will run easily and need to be re done.

You can slightly tint the reflectors aslong as they still reflect. I just slightly tinted the whole of my backlights and they look much better, no need for high intensity bulbs and the reflectors still reflect.

Also the tights idea sounds like a bad idea lol

why is the tights a bad idea?

hey i tinted my rear lights on my mk2 silver 5 door, i masking taped the reflectors and put about 6-7 layers off tint on each light and looked mint haha its not hard, just evenly spray and let each coat dry, i put about 3 coats of laquer on them for a shine finish :D (y)

Hi I have a 2001 Black MK2 Punto, I've got tinted windows and some 15" alloys on there and I saw another Punto looking pretty similar to mine, but with tinted rear lights. I have seen some on eBay but then I heard you could get a spray to tint them... I was wondering how easy it is to do, what precautions you have to take (if any) and if there's a special way to spray them? And also if anyone can recommend a spray they used that worked?

Thanks :)

How many layers did you do to get them looking like that? They look best like that imo. ;) Oh, and did you take them off the car to spray them or just mask around the window/bodywork?
