Re: what does the city button do?

City is a mode of powersteering

Press the button and the steering becomes much lighter

All new Fiats cars have it now as fas as I'm aware and they've installed it for the last 5-6 years in their cars.

It's a nice touch really

Jon.

Re: what does the city button do?

Do you not have a manual? It makes the power steering extra light for city driving.

Re: what does the city button do?

Nothing useful. Given the fact the steering is too light on the mk2 why make it lighter? I could easily feel the road on the old mk1 but not with this thing.

Re: what does the city button do?

Makes it easier for parking. I use it when parking it tight gaps as it means you can turn the wheel quicker and easier.

Re: what does the city button do?

The city button not only lightens the steering wheel, it effects the engine too.

I can't remember exactly how it works but it lets the car crawl forward without using the accelerator, just using the clutch, and the car doesn't struggle.

Only, make sure you only use it when needed as it wears out the already dodgy electric steering motor.

Also as a side note: the effects of the city button automatically cut off after 28mph even if the dash light is still on.
Thanks karbineftw thanked for this post
