Wondering if anyone can help.

I have a mk2 punto that I bought about a month ago and my problem is that intermittently the hazard lights flash after turning the engine on and the only way I can fix this is by turning the engine off and using the aftermarket key fob to lock and unlock the door.

There seems to be no pattern of when it does it apart from that it happens from starting cold but not after stopping and starting.

At first i thought it may be the key fob so stopped using that, going as far as taking the fob off the key-ring - but the flashing happened even when doing this (causing me to have to go get the fob from my house!).

Can anyone shed any light on this? I have taken the car back to the dealer but since I can’t reproduce the problem due to it being intermittent he basically implied it was either my fault or I was lying - obviously I’m not very impressed.

I reckon the fault lies with the aftermarket alarm/remote central locking you have installed.

Maybe its wired up wroong? or has a dodgy connection

This happen when doors opened?

It's a 'safety' feature on some cheap china alarm systems.
