i have a punto 2000 elx model car was driving perfect until noise came in
gearbox so i took gearbox of and it was the clutch bearing.so i put in a new bearing etc put the gearbox back on took the car for a spin no noise perfect. but as i was driving the red light came on the dashborad and now the car is running crap . i was told that if you dissconnect the battery for any reson this light will come on?

anyone have this problem will i have to reset the ecu if so how do i do that with out bringing it to fiat

Which red light, there are a few different ones. . .

none of the warning lights should come on just for disconnecting the battery.


here are a few options a s to what the light could of been:

- Overheating warning light (high temp warning light etc..) - little red circle - if it was on and now the car is running badly i would say your head gasket has gone,

- engine management - only a red light in the diesel versions of if yours is a petrol ignore - misfire (flashing) or high emissions (static light)
