Hey guys,
This is my punto 2001
I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on the type of mods i should go for. Im on a limited (students) budget.
Id like a simple, yet aggressive look.
Im already looking into:

Wheel spacers (15mm each side maby)
Alloys (15" Black)
Induction kit (possibly focus)
And iv just ordered a www.fiatforum.com sticker for my window lol.
Im thinking about de-badging it too, but not sure if i should because im not sure id be happy with the quality of the end result...
I want the car to look clean too.

Id like my car to sound mean (but not chavtastic / boy racer-ey)!!!
Any subtle changes i could make to achieve this sound?

As im on a limited budget i was wondering if there are any small changes i could make without spending too much money, but have a large affect on the car?

Obviously its my first car, so im not too experienced.

Help,
all advice welcome
Thanks
jake x

hi there
best way to save money look clean and non chave
smooth and colour code lower it and keep it standard looking but with a twist very cool at the moment

depends on your budget and how low you wanna go anything over 35 / 40mm it would be best to get both springs and shocks some people dont but it ****s your shocks if you dont
on the mark two depending on what size wheels you want ect it all depends
i personally thing from the cars i work on a 35mm drop is the best for performance and the bank account about £80 on ebay or via a few shops like myself we supply and fit for £175
lots of performance for very little money other options induction kit strutbraces uprating your bushes all these increase performance in handaling acceleration and all pretty cheap

Go 50mm Spax for looks, they are fine on standard shocks from peoples experience but 35mm for handleing and looks.

First thing I would do is get some colour coded bumpers.

Things like colour coding door strips and wing mirrors, debadging rear some sporting alloys maybe ;)

Quick and easy. Debadge, colour code certain things such as the vent surrounds, center console etc... Car mats, gaiter and gearknob.

As for the sound, a Focus induction kit will have you stunned. The sound is gorgeous, and it's cheap as chips and easy to fit.

Basically, anything you can do or fit yourself is usually cheaper, so things like a body kit, exhausts or things like that will require a garage to fit them, and thus bumps up the cost.

Body kits are usually more hastle than their worth unless its done very well so you will need some money there, getting some Colour coded ones from another red fiat would be the best bet for your situation \nd their not to hard to fit yourself.

If you want to be truely stunned by noise from an induction kit get the GSR but they are far more epensive but give you better gains.

Awh thanks for all the info guys, very helpful.

Yeah im 17.
Whats this 'T-cut' stuff? Its not pink lol, my brightness was up on my camera when i took the pics :p But it could do with a colour boost :p

Would the induction kit effect my insurance? Or any of the other things im planning on doing?

Thanks again x

Anything you do that's not standard you need to inform insurance of.

Why 15mm spacers when you don't even have the wheels? Cheaper to buy them in the right fitment to begin with.

What if i didnt inform insurance?
Would i just loose out if i crashed or is it illegal not too?

mk2 punto aj: That does look the bomb, well done. You know the plastic side protectors that you have removed.. are they easy to take off? Do any holes need smoothing afterwards?

Thanks x

It's illegal to not inform your insurance company. In effect you'd be driving without insurance as your insurance would not be valid. In the event of a crash you personally would be responsible for any costs including other drivers costs (personal injury or death = £ thousands). You could also end up with several points/ban/fine for driving without insurance. Is it worth it? No!

Since it's not faded (some red cars do go pink so I appologise), then just a good wash then polish should bring the colour and shine back to it's full glory.

Okay thanks for the info.
How much dyou reckon the insurance would go up for me?
Thanks again x :slayer:

I found that declaring my induction kit over not declaring it when changing insurers bumped the price up by about 60 quid. A lot to pay if you're having to modify your current policy as well, but then I thought it would be better to be on the safe side.
