Hi don't know if it's the clutch cable or gear cable? I just been outside to park up the fiat punto and the gearstick won't engage, it's just moving back and forward freely, soz not good at explaining, if it is the the cable, anyone know roughly how much it'll cost to mend? thanks

Anyone help please? The knob where I bought it should've rang me back last night but as usual he didn't, luckily the warranty has another week left, but if he doesn't ring today I might have to pay to get it done as I can't be without a car, a rough price would be great, if anyone knows ta
definately sounds like the cable has snapped (remember theres 2 & best to replace as pair)
thanks, any idea how much it'll cost? caan it be fixed at my door or will it have to be towed to garage, and any idea how much it'll cost? ta, sorry for all the questions, but as I need it fixing as soon as, I may end up paying, as the dealer is like the scarlett pimpernel, he's never ther or he's too busy to return calls, my warranty runs out next weekend.
depends how far the garage is, if local and conditions are ok I would manually select 3rd gear & drive it to that garage. Is easier to repair with a proper ramp,
I ment manually put it in gear, push/pull lever ontop of the gearbox (that cable leads to) , remember to press clutch down when starting or you'll go flying foward/backwards!!!
Na this is a woman here, don't even know what a gear box looks like, ok, just supposing the local mecahnic (hopefully not a rip off merchant) comes and fixes it at my door, how much roughly is it likely to cost, that's mainly what I want to know, thanks
well I would charge half hour (at dealership prices) which is around £25+vat
