is the water pump pulley meant to be wider than the cambelt as shown?

it isnt on mine, and i have a 1.2 8v
cant see that it would affect it aslong as the belt is properly tensioned, saying that you should check you have both the correct parts.

iv checked part number online.

so it would appear it is correct, but why is it wider
surely the cambelt cover isnt going to fit over the top of it

probably so the edges don't chaff
