Hi everyone,

Just happened to my Punto. The engine sort of whines/whistles while turning off. Water definitely not overheated.. Is that noise dangerous ? Fan running too !

Yeah, mine did this the other day. I was in a queue of traffic, and all of a sudden, I heard a large whirring noise which progressively got louder. When I got home and pulled up onto the drive, it made it again, so I switched off the engine and then started it up again, and realised it was the engine cooling fan.

Nothing to worry about; alls it does is keep the engine cool whilst it has a chance (when its idling in neutral).
