JTD Engine Search
Having been told that due to corrosion of the block (around the piston liner) of my 2000 1.9 JTD Punto, I will need a new engine. As the garage did a HG and cambelt change thinking the corrosion wouldn't affect anything, they have offered to fit a new un for free. My problem has always been pressurised cooling system leading to the coolant coming out the excess pipe as steam.
Therefore I wouldn't mind some advice on the following:
- Where to look (apart from the obvious eBay)?
- Can I use the 1.9 JTD engine from any of the MK2 Fiat models? If so, can someone list what there is in the range?
This car runs nice but has suffered this problem since I bought from the auction (nuff said!).
