General How to bleed the rad in a mk2 2000 punto?

There is a bleed screw on the right hand side of the radiator at the top, and one towards the back of the engine, if you look from the passenger side of the car (assuming you have a RHD car) behind the air box (assuming again you have an 8v) there are a load of thick pipes that come from the engine block and seem to go into the passenger compartment of the car. On the black plastic box attatched to these there is a little screw slot, turn this slowly to bleed the heater matrix.

For info on how to bleed the system follow the mk1 guide in the guides section. (HERE)

Why do you need to bleed it?

Mdeko said it all...

But, for how long do you need to let it drip?

I've tried it on mine, because there was some air in the cooling sistem, but havent done a good jobe... It's better than it was, but not qiute fine...

Just bleed it until you get a constant ammount of water out of the tap. Dont stop bleeding at the first sign of water coming out. Its also a good idea to after the first bleed and squeezing of the pipes to run the car for 5-10 mins or upto temperature (making sure the coolant level is well above min in the tank) and let it cool then try bleeding again and see if any more air comes out

When i had my water sensor done, and had it replaced
We left the bleed valve open - while i filled it up with water

Shut the valve - put cap back on rad
Started engine - ran it for a good 5 to 10 mins
and bled it again :)

IF u undo the rad cap - and water slurts out - u've still got air in there

My Rad one tho was Stuck tight, no way would i off been able to get it undone....
