hi!
firstly im new here, i just bought a 2001 punto so i thought i'd come see whats what.. second i tried to rip the old radio out and fit a flip front but touched the live and blew the interior light and the radio fuses (i think) so i'm just wondering does anyone have a diagram or something that explains which fuses are which? oh and also where to find the fuse box?

any help would be fantastic!
thanks

Hi mate, and WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!

The fusebox is located to the right of the steering wheel (uk Car) you will see two large plastic screws in the dash (just above the coin holder bit) turn these 45 degress, and then you can fold down the bit of plastic trim. The fusebox is behind there. On the back of the plastic trim is a list of all the fuses and their location.

Hope thta helps,
Alan

Excellent! Thanks very much! i was looking under the bonnet :s i'm guessing thats the ECU right?

anyway, again thanks a lot and ill have look at it in the morning.

No problem mate,

There's another Fusebox in the engine, on the right hand side just next to the windscreen wash filler, but that contains engine and ECU related fuses. The fusebox i described above is for all other fuses, and includes the one for the radio/interior light etc.

Ok, so i sorted that out and just put the standard blaupunkt back in but i have another problem

The radio just displays wait, anyone know how long do i need to wait? i waited for around 45 minutes before the stereo turned off automaticly

again all help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi mate,

WAIT appears when you have entered the code incorrectly. Is it the original Head unit form the car, or has it come out of another punto?

Hi again :)

i'm not sure as it was in the car when i bought it and displayed wait ever since, hence my trying to fit a flip front.

but i do have a code someone calculated for me from my serial number

Right.... the fact that its wanting the code means that its not the original HU that came with the car. The last person who had the car obviously typed the code in wrong too many times. The "waiting" time increases progressively each time the wrong code is entered. You can wait up to a maximum of 24 hrs. You just have to wait untill the "WAIT" turns into "CODE" then you can enter your code. Leave it in the car and connected, otherwise the waiting time wont decrease.

Hope that makes sense
Alan

Yep, thanks alan.
I've found that if the key is in the ignition the radio doesn't turn itself off after 45mins or so, so i'll just leave it alone for a few hours

thanks you've been a great help!

yep worked great that thanks! just left it for around 2 hours and it asked for the code
