Any tips or guidance for replacing these on a 96 55, the Haynes manual tells you nowt about 'em !

they are overlap bushes which press over the originals

Our Mk 1 thumps over potholes and suspect back subframe bushes ( it still passed its MOT last week !) Have been told that some sort of split helper bushes are available - part46476755 - are these what you mean Chris, and are they a DIY job without special tools ?

yeah 46476755 is correct.

I dont believe you need any special tooling to carry this out
