Just got my car back from the garage and ive had work done on it.

Ive had a new clutch....apperently 250quid

All new brake parts at the back....apparently 240quid

so 490quid in total!

Have i been ripped off as i havent paid the guy yet and i need justification from u guys to have the right to say hes rippin me off!

Also theres a stupid metal grindin noise as i have it back....is this the new clutch wearin in? should it be makin it???

what brake parts have been replaced at the back (personally i think thats abit much, depends on wahts been replaced)?? i think the clutch price is ok

clutch price seems ok to me, but brakes seems really expensive?

what car do you have? does it have rear drums?! sounds like a rip off for that mate. Could get a rear disc conversion for that price almost

You should not have any (new) metal grinding noises
Is it from the brakes?
Or is it when you change gear?

what does the "noise" sound like grinding, whining etc. etc. and i think that it is abit pricey for the brakes, was there any form of this noise from the engine bay before going for the work??

The guy said he spent 170quid on the parts for the brakes, is that affects anything? The noise wasnt there at all before...it was as smooth as anything. Its like a metal rattling noise but a fast paced rattle, not a really a grindin or whining??

170quid i can go on shop4parts and make about 100 quid(still change) total for the drums and shoes to be replaced. however if the noise is new i would get it checked over at the same place and another so that you have another persons op, possibly another would help if further problems occur

Well i am 100% sure theyve caused this noise. Do i have the rigt to make them get rid of it even tho it could be nothin?

at least get them to inspect it if it was not there before you gave it them, and get a few other garages ops as well to the problem if they say no

A set of shoes £25
Two new cylinders £15 each
1 ltr of DOT4 £5
Vat £11
Total £71 approx cost for parts.
