Angry Drive belt broken

I have a Fiat Punto SX 60, 1997 and 73.000 km. Last weekend my drive belt is broken. Is that normal or waht can I do? I thought that I have to change my drive belt after 100.000 km!

Re: Drive belt broken

The figure u have got is just a manufacturers guidline they cant predict when it will go they just advise u to change it before that interval to try and stop it!
Fiat actually advise that u change every 40,000miles(bout 60,000km) just to be on the safe side!

Hope it didnt do too much damage!

Red face Re: Drive belt broken

My local fiatgarage sais at 75.000KM service is a good time to change. I changed it at 60.000KM, because it was 7 years old then, figured it was a good time to change. It costed about 80 at fiat. Prolly cheaper somewhere else but I like my local fiatgarage, the owner is Italian, makes you feel good

Re: Drive belt broken

not to worry your engine is a safe engine, no damage happens from a broken belt, just align timing marks fit new belt and away you go,
BTW welcome to the forum
sorry for my spelling
