Are they exactly the same as the Mk 2 and Mk 1's covers? I'm talking about the bits that would normally be colour coded with the car, but aren't on alot of them, not the whole thing, just the "Hood" Bit.

Aaaalso, anyone know how to get the door handles off? And if so, where you can buy spare ones?

they are the same as the mk2's

to get them off

- take tweeter covers off

- undo big black circular piece of plastic, stick a screwdriver in the grooves and turn it

- if it is electric, unplug it and pull off from outside
- if manual, undo the silver washer from under the adjuster rubber, and pull mirror out from outside

i took mine off last week and sprayed them

Was the spray the halfords color match stuff?
And does it dry that shiny or do you spray something else onto it after painting?

yeah, i used halfords black fiat spray paint already mixed up off the shelf, about 4 coats, and then clear lacquer (couple of coats) on top to give it a nice finish

it was already shiny before the lacquer, its the way you spray it (not too far away) but lacquer protects it too.

Awesome, my cars silver so I'll probably need the lacquer anyway, the matte black ones make my car look like it was designed by a special person, they are so out of place.

haha its not even matte black, its grey.

on my car it wasnt too noticeable, but much better now they are colour coded

silver should be a lot easier than black, good luck.

to get the door handles off, its a case of taking the interior door cards off...

its easier to just paint them while still on the car!

yeah, leave them on to spray.

I saw that guide before, i but i wanted to do them off the car, that way if it all goes horribly wrong i can put some new ones on without too much hassle. Is there a guide about getting door cards off? I've not seen one.

Lol. You wont make that much of a mess of it. Just be patient and follow the guide carefully

Yor wing mirror looks great with the colour coding, i have a black mk2b too so your car is as close as an example as can be, so i might try painting them too. :slayer:
