If i buy 5mm wheel spacers for a punto sporting mk2 with the normal sporting alloys on them, would it be ok to use the original bolts or would i need to purchase some special ones etc

You should get the longer wheel nuts with the spacers

you dont need spacers for standard alloys, they are alread at the correct offset for the car

i know but i wont a wider look for the car - what size bolts would i need exactly?

30mm should do it

with runnin spacers it will put more strain on the wheel bearing thus will need renewing more frequent.

i dont think 5mm will affect it too much and soon i will be looking to get some alloy wheels (17") so it should be ok then as well, i hope

Measure the bolts you have at the moment and get ones that are 5mm longer.
