I cant get it off and Im scared Ill break the pipe, do you just tug it once the little clips are off or is there a knack to it??

also while Im here whats the legal tread depth on tyres? decided theres no point puttin alloys on until my tyres are done for!

The plastic oultlet pipes on the top of the fuel pump are prone to snapping off and cant be bought seperatley so becareful.
I may be wrong bet i belive there are clips on the end of the pipes where they go onto the filter, they just need gently prising apart.
Im also presuming that you have removed the strap around it
 
the removal of the filter is quite easy.. i have just done mine. the hARDEST PART IS BEING ABLE TO GET AT IT.. u need to get the car up in the air as high as u can an get right under the car.. the clip nearest the tank is a lil awkward. start with that 1 first.. push the clips and pull.. it will need a bit of force.. dnt twist an fiddle to much as its not the clips u will break its the lines.. they can be a lil brittal..
