my paint code is 517/A

now when i go try get paint all places seem to only have 517? i have a can at home and it seems a slightly different shade?

does the a mean anything? or could it just be a case of wrong primer causing wrong shade ect? as i need to get some big parts of my car painted

cheers

do what I did

take the car to a paint shop, ask the paint specialist to come out and take a look. He took an element from my car (some cover) prepared the paint and that's it. Because the sun beams and the rain and the years affects color of the paint and there will be differences between new (coded) paint and the old one.

I hope it helps

p.s: I payed 20 euros for 200 ml of paint

Took me a while yesterday to find somewhere that did the right colour paint for my car, mine was 375/A, went to Halfords, they had no idea and told me to ring Fiat to find out if code was right, so i did and they said it was correct, went to a small shop thats been going for years, he had 6 different shades for my code. So my advice would be to seek out a smaller shop that does them.

My code is 330/A, went to halfords it didnt come up on their computer but they had it in their paint guide.

First one they mixed up for me was a sort of blue-green colour :mad:

I think the /A is for metallic colours?

Exactly what happened to me, spent alot of time ringing round after that and found out their was a shop right round the corner from mine which would mix it for me.

Thanks i think snapyoursticks is right as i just went out and got some 517 and it seems very dull color but close to mine it just doesn't seem to have the shine/glitter:(

will have to go shop round for some places who will make it up was told to ring pdh in hassocks if not looks likes going to have to be painted in a bodyshop

Mines 517/A tooo :D I got some from halfrauds, and they didnt have a clue what it was, 'cos it wasn't on their computer. But they rang somewhere or other and found it. You should find that if you just layer it up, and then laquer you shouldn't be able to see tooo much difference. Depends what you're painting

trying to get some abarth skirts and new front bumper sprayed up + some mirrors which i had ago at today. doesn't seem to made will give it some laquer 2moz see what outcome will be

cheers

Bit disappointed with the paint I chose, seems a bit to "green" will have to get some more paint next weekend and redo them.

i know its been asked a lot but where is the paint code on an mk2 (punto) i dont seem to be able to find it anywhere tahts been suggested:confused:

pic any1:D?

On my 2000 ELX, I open the bonnet and it is on a sticker right next to the release or just right of center at the leading edge on the underside. Of course there could be variations. If you have the owners' guide, look in there and see what they suggest.
