Anyone fitted a HID kit in their puntos preferably a mk2 punto? Was going to buy a kit on ebay and then fit it myself, instructions seem straightforward in terms of connecting and swapping wires etc but is there any other problems that other people faced that i should know about?

yeah, ive done it.

there is a guide somewhere on here aswell for it.

just make sure you buy a kit from a seller preferably near you so you can get replacement parts and help if anything does go wrong

those are mine, H7 bulbs at 6k colour temp.

pretty easy to do as long as its not from china.

yepp.

its pretty much plugging the bulbs wiring into the ballast, and connecting the bulb to the old fitting.

then mounting the ballats and making sure they dont go anywhere.

oh, and you will have to drill a small hole in the back of your headlight covers for the wires to go through. it should have a grommit included though.

i also upgraded my sidelights to white LEDs as the halogen ones looked so out of place.

cool, i might order some and have an attempt, oh and what induction kit is that? Is it K&N and if so, could you give us the model number, that looks beastly and cool lol.

I want a more blue effect though and yours looks a little more white so you think i should go with the 8000k's?

its a focus induction kit, they fit punto's like mine. just type in focus induction kit into ebay, and pretty much any of them will do. search on here for threads on them too.

yeah, mine are quite white at night, looking at them. if you want more bluer then go for 8k, but visibility is less.

well i went on autobulbsdirect and they tell you what bulbs you need for what car, model and year which said to me H7's unless its different for sporting models.

My punto is just like yours doovydoo. Black and that model shape, mines a sporting, is yours? Ive got an K&N induction kit but that was there when i bought the car but i like the size and look of yours. Looks more effective. Yours though i noticed, looks like its comming from the top part of the engine and facing straight down where as mine i think is facing to the left so not sure about that,

mine is an 8v, not sporting.

thats why it looks different lol.

best to check what bulbs are currently in your car so you know for sure.

Just to back up what's been said, check what bulbs you have. According to every website, Punto mk2's have H7 but alot have H1 (like mine).

I've had HID's for a few years. I had a courtesy car a year ago when some knob drove into my bum, and I couldn't believe I stuck with halogens for so long. Was glad to get my car back after that! (aside from the fact I hated the car ... bloody yaris)

Also would the manual tell me what bulbs i need for the car or is it a case of me trying to get the casing out and checking the bulbs itself?
