Hi all!! I am very new to this site, so I would appricate any help I can get! I am a proud owner of a Punto MkII 1.2 16V Sporting (mat blue!! - Will post pix soon!!) .... I own 3 Fiats (1. Fiat Coupe 16v, 2. Punto JTD HLX) but seems to be the only one giving me problems.

My battery was dead, so I changed the battery and since then my engine management light came on. I thought I'd try some STP and that seem to sort the problem (well thats wot I thought!!) .... anyway....when coming to a hault, the car would cut off....not all the time, but very erratic.....When the car was left for 30 mins or so, the Check light would go off..... I changed the plugs but this made no difference...I dont see no issues with performance...but I do get a slight judger in first gear....like a misfire..... anyway.....got a code reader and got the following 2 codes

U1600 - Key code issue....not sure if this is relevent.
P0105 - MAP Circuit malfunction.

Could someone tell me what to do next? Do I have to replace the MAS sensor for code P0105? If so, where is this sensor located? Is is straight forward to do?

Do I have to get my keys re-coded for U1600?

Sorry to sound stupid, I looked as much as I could around the forum before asking these questions.

go on google bud and type in fiat punto codes. something like that. a while a go i found a website that named all the codes giving explanations on what the code meant and where the problem lyes. google is the way forward.it had a long list of codes all meaning different thingd.have a look. if i find it il let you know.

Cheers mate!! Turned out to be the MAP sensor!

HELP!! I just changed the MAP sensor and the Engine management light has just come back on!! I got a diag done again and the same code has come up P0105 and also another code P1135!!

Can someone please help!!

Ive been told to change the lambda sensor and the TDC sensor. I dont mind but is this what these errors mean?

I have reset it now, but would have a pro look at it before ordering more parts!!

have you erased the errors? and the same error comes back?

Nah mate, they still there...I changed the map sensor with a pattern part, was still getting the problem so got an original part from Fiat for about £65....but problem still persists.... not sure what it is so I just ignore it!!

My car does cut out sometimes and the engine management light comes back on with the same error code, but I am just allowing it as it goes off/on when it feels like it!!

Might be a vacum leek...completely lost mate!! I know this dont help...but I have just come to live with it!!:bang:

Dude...I found the problem!!! The breather pipe was ripped!! I got a new one and the put half a can of Carb Cleaner down the air pipe and now FANTASTIC!!!

my oil breather pipe was ripped for ages and thought it wouldnt affect the engine lol maybe its time to get a new one now lol
