I hope someone may be able to help, we have an M reg Punto with a little over 45K on the clock, usually runs fine but twice now (approx 3 months ago and then yesterday) during a journey the engine just completely fails and the key code warning light comes on and then it will not restart. Luckily it is only used on short journeys to get my husband to and from work and on quiet roads as obviously it is really dangerous to just lose all power and control.

I have read a forum today about using red and blue keys to sort out the problem with the key code light bit but does anyone have any idea why it may be losing all power in mid journey?
