Iv taken out the standerd Cd player out my 04 Punto and have gone to put my new head unit in, the connecters fit correctly etc but theres no power! Its a sony head unit, please help!

I just bought a new JVC headunit, and on the back you could move the fuge to another position. Its because there are two different ways to power the headunit, either via the power that goes on when you switch the key or via the power thats always on. On my JVC it was set to the keyswitch mode which my puntk (mk1) doesnt "support" (or it wasnt wired that way anyway) moving the fuse and it worked great!

Check the manual for both the Sony and the blaupunkt, there may also be a sticker on both radios detailing which connections go where.
I would NOT be surprised if some of the connections were different. I, for instance, have used two different Punto MK2 radios the ( blaupunkt mid tape deck, and the sat nav unit) I needed to move certain ins around to obtain correct power operation.

Joel is correct about a switch for power operation, although it may not apply to all head units, but there is no harm in trying.

I hope some of this helps?

Oh and good luck!

facelift wiring is different for some odd reason, on the sony wiring loom disconect the red lead and plug it into the double yellow conector.

Kebab's right.

There's no switched live on the (newer?) Puntos.

You need to join the red permanent live wire and the yellow switched live wire together. Just get a joining crimp or similar. You might be able to squeeze both cables into the same plug though.

I just joined mine together thought :)[8D]

those sony looms have been designed for that allready, the yellow wire has a spare conector as standard.
