Re: windscreen wiper failure!!

apparently, you can remove the drivers wiper and reposition the passenger one so when parked it points up thus wiping the drivers screen when turned on. not my idea, someone on here mentioned it, so dont know if itll work.

theres a little plastic ball joint in that linkage, if thats whats failed then go to a fiat garage and see if they sell that on its own, if not go to a scrappy,., it'll cost very litle.,

they do do a single wiper conversion, but here we are just talking about up graded linkage to replace the broken ones

Re: windscreen wiper failure!!

I had this exact problem on the mrs punto.

I fixed it by removing the mechanism which was quite straight forward then drilling a small hole in the middle of the metal ball joints then screwing self tapping screws and a large washer to retain the mechanism in place.

I've prob not described it very well but it was quite an easy and cheap repair which worked well until the wind twisted the drivers side blade off the other day...

Tip

Re: windscreen wiper failure!!

I used the (very cheap) jubilee clip solution someone posted here a long time ago - just put the arm back on and fit a jubilee clip underneath it. I bought a jubilee clip that can be tightened with your fingers rather than a screwdriver as it's probably not the easiest place to access wth a screwdriver. It's been on almost a year now without any problems. I do have a spare ready in case the other wiper goes!
