ok problem is the driver side windscreen wiper has stopped workin!the wiper itself has become detached under the bonnet this happened before and i jus clipped it back on but now it no longer stays on any help appreciated guys!

yer mk2b i got!!yer sounds like jus what i need any ideas of a temprary fix till this arrives as the weather aint too good to be without one!

apparently, you can remove the drivers wiper and reposition the passenger one so when parked it points up thus wiping the drivers screen when turned on. not my idea, someone on here mentioned it, so dont know if itll work.

if you mean me, ive not tried it, it was just an idea.

ive just had delivered one of the new kits to try on mrs daves car, so may try my idea first just to see if it works

theres a little plastic ball joint in that linkage, if thats whats failed then go to a fiat garage and see if they sell that on its own, if not go to a scrappy,., it'll cost very litle.,

am i right in thinkin the wipex kit is fir single wiper conversion??also easy enough job to do myself i'm guessin??

..this happend to me a wee while back,

all I did was get a coupla allumimum circ-clip? fingy's
you know the one's that are opened at one end, and you squeeze
them over the narrow fitting between the ball and the wiper arm,
sorted!

thing is the ball seems to be so worn it doesnt actually hold the arm on so i'm guessin that wont work!seems like gonna hve to get new ones! cheers anyway guys!

I had this exact problem on the mrs punto.

I fixed it by removing the mechanism which was quite straight forward then drilling a small hole in the middle of the metal ball joints then screwing self tapping screws and a large washer to retain the mechanism in place.

I've prob not described it very well but it was quite an easy and cheap repair which worked well until the wind twisted the drivers side blade off the other day...

Tip

I used the (very cheap) jubilee clip solution someone posted here a long time ago - just put the arm back on and fit a jubilee clip underneath it. I bought a jubilee clip that can be tightened with your fingers rather than a screwdriver as it's probably not the easiest place to access wth a screwdriver. It's been on almost a year now without any problems. I do have a spare ready in case the other wiper goes!
