Be gentle as its my first post.

I have an 02 Punto Elx, and have just started to encounter a problem with the car pulling away in first gear. It doesn't happen when the car is cold, only when the car has been running for about 15 mins. The car judders as though something is not engaging, but if you increase the revs, it aids the problem.

I have had a new ECU fitted within the last 3 weeks, and was wondering if this could be a problem?

Thanks paul

The engine to the gearbox could be passing oil and contaminating the clutch plates, causing it to judder like so in 1st when pulling away is the car using alot of oil? There was also a problem with the MK2 puntos that came out between 01-02 with a faulty clutch or flywheel, causing the same problem again juddering when in 1st and worser when your carrying a heavy load.

Its strange why its happening after around 15mins though, surely it would be from cold?

Dont think its using alot of oil, will get it booked in to my local garage, and see if they have any ideas.

thanks paul

Yeah i know what you mean, i have an 01 and i get it the odd time after driving for a while, i changed my clutch thinking it was that, it did stop but after a while it came back again, then i found out it was some kind of fault on 01-02 models im sure it was a problem with the flywheel.

Flywheel, is that a big job. Didn't want to spend anymore just yet, as I have just had a new ECU fitted.

Cars, dont you just love them.

Paul
