Newish (53 plate) Punto Dynamique Multijet - airbag warning light keeps coming on. Anybody had similar complaints and how was it fixed?

I could tell you loads of reasons why the air bag light could be illuminated, but you still need to take it to your dealer to sort it. Common faults are PAB loom incorrectly routed by glove box lid, catches and records an error. PAB exclusion switch, bad earth! most common. But without a diagnostic computer you can't do a thing. Stilo's self learn and can extinguish the failure lamp but punto's have to be done electronically.

stilos self learn, where did you find that out?
im curious since i keep getting stilo jobs with side airbag squib too high errors, why does'nt the ecu clear the error itself [?]

If the error is still present then the light will stay on the connection under the seat is the cause of the side airbag fault. I work on these all day long! I've cleaned connections before and turned out lights without even connecting the examiner(still end up connecting to get a printout so I get paid!)

Hi buddy, I have a 2000 Punto 1.9 JTD with a red airbag indication which i presume is the drivers airbag. I've heard of wiring problems under the seat. Would it be under my drivers seat? Do i need to remove the seat to get to the wiring and have a look for dry joints/corroded wiring? I might just disconnect the battery for a few mins and reconnect to see it that does the trick. What do you think?
