hi all
how easy is it to change the drive shaft on a punto
as i think my near side one is fooked as it keeps jumping with a big bang (n)

any advice welcomb

thanks in advance marcus

32mm nut in the hub. and 2 bolts on the strut to swing this out and pull the shaft out.

Tbh driveshafts dont just go unless you have a split in the rubber boot and it has run dry.

sorry for the delay in replying pc probs

drive shafts do look ok no slits in boots or play in them
any ideas
mounts maybe?
thanks marcus(y)

well all mounts done and the f###ing thing still cluncks:mad: also just noticed after it clunks it tends to pull to one side
plz help

getting depressed letalone skint mounts cost a bloody fortune:cry:

thanks marcus

wouldn't be a sticking caliper would it, which could explain the clunk if you are starting to brake at the time, piston jumps out and grabs the disc with a clunk and car pulls to one side. Drive shafts usuall grumble some time like mine for months usually at rounderbouts and junctions. never made it pull to one side though.

I had one of the needle bearings fail on the inner-spider of the driveshaft. It broke down and then instead of rolling on the needles, it rolled over them pushing the driveshaft out every revolution and causing a knocking noise.

Could be a possibility if you're sure it's coming from the driveshaft.
