i bought a push button start for my punto (richbrook) iv follower every thing on the instruction and the punto haynes and evry time i turn the key it shouldnt start tillliv pressed the button but it starts with out me pressing it and sounds like the key is still turning and wen i do press it the noise goes any ideas whats wrong or is the button

Erm...this may sound daft...but do the instructions tell you how to disconnect the key system from the starter motor? Otherwise I'd imagine the car would still start when you turn the key.

if your turn your key to the ACC position, then press the button, does the car start?

im not sure i really get your problem but if you are saying that it still starts without pressing the button as it normally would then you have to disconnect the + at the starter and run the switch to that so that the key cant start the car anymore., in my civic you can start it either by the button or the key, i think its better that way.,
its you saying that the starter motor is still turning even after the engine is running then the button it most likely the problem and its sticking, either that or your wiring.,

just to ask... your not turning the key fully are you? dunno if that sounds stupid but that was my dads problem lol..

yeh but if you turn the key like normal with the key and keep it like that the starter motor makes a screeching noise if ya no what i mean and it makes that noise wen i turn the key with the button but it might be the button

and in the punto haynes the modding one the same button is in that and i copyed it exactily and it still starst and makes that screeching noise but wen i keep the button pressed it goes but wen i let go it screeche again

defo a faulty button then.,
