hi guys
just brought a mod chip for my punto hgt and my wifes sporting mark2.
having problems locating the AIR INTAKE SENSOR to attach the chip,
anyone out there help me out ? the instuctions that came with it were not very clear (photocopies).cant seem to find a manual for the mark 2 punto anywhere only 94-99.

I've got the same problem. I bought one of them chips and according to the Mk1 manual the sensor has a Blue/black wire going in and a black wire going in , but the Mk2 Punto dont have any connectors with those colours!!!
There must be somebuddy out there that knows which one it is!!![?]

With the mk1 punto with monopointinjection the sensor was located in the throttlebody, with the mk2 who have multipointinjection the sensor is located on the rightside of the inletmanfold. However this is an airintaketemerature and pressuresensor. There should be 3 wires brown, blue and black-white, black-white is running from tempsensor to ECU.

I can't believe that you fell for these "chips", or 4.7k resistors as everyone else calls them. Maplins sell them for about 2p each, how much did you pay? £5.
Dispite the advert, they do not work like all the more expensive chips, they do not change the mapping, they fool the ECU into thinking the airflow is greater and that the engine hasn't warmed up.
You will get a little boost in power for a while but it won't be long until your engine suffers quite badly (along with the MPG).

I paid £2.75 for the chip and cant install it as Geert says , cos i dont have the same colour connectors as he mentions.... Well i may have but i am colourblind and wont take a risk[)] I did get a decent CDROM of all the fiat range part numbers on Ebay for £8.99 though which has been dead handy.I gave the chip to my nephew to play with at college, he's doing a course in motor mechanics which apparently means you have to go to a pub at lunch time and down as much cider as possible then fall asleep all afternoon. I'm gonna try one little mod, thats take a 12v case fan out of my PC and slot it into the air intake to swirl the air around a bit on its way into the filter.Dunno what the effect will be, but it can only go bang!!![xx(]
