I'm currently experiencing a problem with my 2001 X Reg 1.2 Fiat Punto.

When I lock the car, the hazard warning ligths can come on for now reason, sometimes after 5 minutes, sometimes after an hour. When I go back into the car, I have to press the hazard warning lights button to turn them off. Sometimes this happens again and again in a night, and I have to remove the indicator lights fuse from the dashboard fusebox to make it stop. Even so, though the lights don't flash becuase the fuse is missing, something still trips the hazards on, as the hazard warning ligths button can be flashing when I go back to the car.

Has anyone experienced this before, or have any suggestions or solutions as to what the problem might be and how to fix it?

We have had an hours worth of electrical tests from a Fiat dealer - £70 to be told they could not find anything and did not see anything!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try changing the switch., does it have an alarm? if it does it could be an alarm sensor causing it as the alarm is usually connected to the hazzards., maybe it has one you dont know about?.,

if not then try leaving the battery dissconnected overnight to reset the ECU and see if that helps.,(y)
