Smile alarm fitting for the mk1 punto!(most common fiats listed)

this is the alarm i'll be showing you how to fit.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Alarm-w-Im...QQcmdZViewItem
these are the instructions:

Firstly you will need to position all the components of the alarm, like the module, siren, shock sensor etc.

this is where i will be placing the siren in a 1.2 8valve punto. the siren will sit close to the rubber wiring grommet that leads into the footwell inside the car.

this is where the alarm module will be placed below. you have to remove 2 screws from the pocket compartment to get to the fusebox.

the main wires you will need are:
-12v battery constant
-12v ACC ignition(only has current when the key is turned)
-Ground (attach to the metal chassis of the car)
-Central locking negitive /close
-Central locking negitive /open,.,.,

Firstly for the 12 constant (red wire on this alarm module), this should be tapped into the red/white wire that goes into the bottom left corner of the fusebox, make sure that the alarm wire is fixed tightly, then cable tie it to the red/white wire about 2cm up, this stops it from being chucked. Finally wrap up the connection with black insulating tape.

Next is the ignition ACC wire(White wire in the alarm module). the car wire this will be attached to is Orange(not Orange/Black) and is located in the ignition switch loom or behind the fusebox, just confirm you have the right orange one if you use the fusebox one. tap it in the same way as the 12v+ wire with the cable tie and tape it up.

Now you'll need to connect the alarm ground wire. you can do this by crimping on an "o"ring terminal and bolting the wire to the chassis at the grounding point behind the drivers kick panel, make sure its secure and the crimp is tight.

now for the Central locking!
the car wires you will need are located behind the drivers kick panel. they are "blue or black" for locking pulse and "White" for unlocking. you can test these by attaching a piece of wire to the ground point and touching it off the wires one at a time, if you have the right wires then the central locking actuators will open/close.(do this with the doors shut).
here is a pic of the wires you will need.,.

Now for the door triggers.,
if you tap the alarm modules "Blue" wire, into the red/white wire in the door pin switch the alarm will sound if someone opens the doors. alternatively you can tap into the dome light inside the car for a door trigger.,

the boot trigger works in much the same way, attach the alarm modules blue/black wire to the boot switch.,.,

the cars Indicator wires you will need are located on the right side of the steering column. they are coloured Blue for left side, and blue/black for Right side.

(if being immobilised)The white wire from the module needs to be connected to the break switch. it must be connected to the side that only has power when the pedal is pressed, it is part of the antihijacking system.

the immobiliser relay should be spliced into the red/black wire at the ignition switch loom, i think this wire is red in some models,.,.

The pink wire in the module must be lead through the bulkhead(see above pic) and attached to the red wire on the siren. the black wire on the siren must be grounded to the chassis.

Now all thats left to do is to attach the shock sensor and warning LED. these just plug into the alarm module.attach the shock sensor somewhere that isnt too difficult to get to as it might need to be adjusted in the future. Stick the led somewhere that is clearly visible from outside the car.,.,.

Re: alarm fitting for te mk1 punto!

all the indicators are linked, orange as far as i can remember at the ignition, rubber grommet is in the driver footwell to lead wires though.,.,
dont use sparkrite, they are the most simple alarms to get around and are more expancive than the better ones on ebay.,.,

Re: alarm fitting for te mk1 punto!

What is the best way to tape the alarm wires with the car wires?

Firstly for the 12 constant (red wire on this alarm module), this should be tapped into the red/white wire that goes into the bottom left corner of the fusebox, make sure that the alarm wire is fixed tightly, then cable tie it to the red/white wire about 2cm up, this stops it from being chucked. Finally wrap up the connection with black insulating tape.
Can you please indicate all the way you should follow to pass the wire from the fuse box to the boot of the car ? Thanks

The colours you are quoting are in the alarm unit ( going out of the alarm unit ) or with the cars own wires? ( going out of the fuse box )

Re: alarm fitting for the mk1 punto!(most common fiats listed)

i dont really understand what you mean, is it that you need to run the wiring into the door? you can just tap them into the wires where they come back into the car at the kick panel.,

The wire loom going from the engine side to the interior of the car have no extra space for new wires like the one's i need to add for alarm purposes. Can you send photos of the exact point from were the alarm wires need to pass . Please refer tothe driver's side of the car since the alarm unit will be installed beside the fuse box. Hence i need the easiest way to the engine side.

Thanks
