Gear knob removal

Punto mk1 gear knobs are really hard work to remove, so heres how to do it the easy(ish) way.

tools:
sharp stanley knife
grips

first you need to cut the rubber handle off
...

Mines a lift reverse too (the one in the pick above) just make sure you have enough clearance for the lip to rise up (20 mm give or take), search ebay for lift reverse nob, or pop into halfords for a free parts mag (thats where i got my richbrock one in the pic)

my gear nob keeps coming off when driving, so to fix it Fiat have charged me £100 for a new gear gator! ... my reverese vessal was broken so it just went straight into reverse! .. not good, also i tried gluing the stick but it just eventually comes apart when u change gear going 70mph down a motorway! and then gets stuck in netural!
