The blower motor was intermittent - and now it stopped working. The sidelights are working just fine. I cold follow the steps described on this topic to fix it but the problem is that i cant find the black wiring multi-plug. Is it possible that i don't have one ? If it helps answering my question i can take some photos and post them here. Many thanks in advance your one is the mk1-2 non face lift i presume ??? i may be wrong though

Having discovered that the steering column and fan motor assembly are reversed on our l.h.d Punto, (a 2002 1.2 Mk2) i.e. they are still in the passenger footwell, the connecter block is easy enough to find - especially as there doesn't appear to be a felt cover on the Polish market model! Having read your extremely helpful "quick-fix" above, we've discovered that the side lights don't operate on the fan switch - only the illumination on the centre console - which fails to light when the side lights are turned on! Assuming that this is a similar problem - in technical Polish language the heater fan is "kaput", once it's light tomorrow we'll further investigate the footwell wiring, which, judging by the amount of insulation tape wrapped in various places has already given trouble in the past. I will update this for any owners of left hand drive Puntos once we sort it.

Posts: 1,376 Thanks: 69 Trader Rating: 0 | Re: Mk2 - My sidelights come on instead of my interior fan!!! ok it sorted itself out, but now its not working again. if i have my lights on then turn the heater there is no lights and no blowing......nothing. however when i turn my headlights and sidelights off, then turn the heather then theres still no blowing but the heater lights will come on at level 4 (but still not blowing). the other day when my heater was working one of my sidelights had 'blown' (Well not working). but the following day the sidelight was working again. so does this look like its leading up to this wire or is it something else causing this problem?

I cut the wire and used barrel crimps to put in a new wire either side of the connector. Worked perfectly. Thanks for saving me a trip to the garage!

It's been an intermittent problem and I think someone has done something to bypass some of the wiring, this is what it looks like under the passenger side .... I used to be able to wiggle the wires underneath and the fan would kick in, but now nothing happens, and I can't work out what's been done to the wiring already! I hope someone can help me! It's so cold!

My lads punto had a coolant leak that was dripping from around the passenger side footwell heater opening and the heater blower stopped, could water ingress into those wiring connections have done this ?. I've checked the fuses and changed the blower relay but nowts changed .
