Hi All,

My ABS has failed, MultiECU scan suggest it can be the sensor has gone, the wheel bearing has gone or there's a break in the circuit.

I have replaced the sensor with no luck and can't find a break in the wiring.

2 Questions..

  1. Does anyone have a wiring diagram so i can check the continuity between the circuits
  2. And The easiest/cheapest option would be to pick up a hub assembly.. Does anyone know whether the hubs are interchangeable from the 1.4 16v and the 1.4 8v?

Any other help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Maybe download the Grande Punto eLearn "FIAT Grande Punto eLearn.iso" and burn it to CD

there is some ABS wire descriptions but no idea if they are the same for the later breed..

Other than that have a look at the wire colours at the sensor plug end and see if you can see the same colour going into the ABS connector. sometimes they can be worked out with a bit of logical thinking :)

Thanks Louie, I managed to chase back the circuits to abs control unit.

For anyone reading this that wants to check, the Front left wheel speed sensor uses twisted pair wires, yellow and yellow with black stripe, and connects to the left hand side of the ABS control unit connector (Cant remember the pin numbers)

There was no continuity between one of the circuits and as luck would happen, I found the break about 200mm from the back of the connector.

For the first time since owning the car back in 2013, I now have no errors!!
