Looking for some advice from car expertss on here. Car is making a noise when I'm driving around 50-70mph and the car shakes really bad around the 50 mark with this annoying noise which is like a knocking noise lasts for about 4 seconds and then goes and comes back when i apply light pressure to the accelerator as if i was just cruising if i put my foot down to get past this the car shakes quite badly and you can see it through the gearknob too. I've just had the wheels laser balanced and alligned. My gfs dad is a mechanic for Volvo and he said that's all he could find wrong with it cause the drivers wheel had no weights on it, after he did this it seemed fine but driving down the motorway it's just started again. I plan to get it to fiat to look at but any help would be much appreciated so I can give them something to go on.

What about where the engine is bolted to the car itself? If there's play somewhere then the vibrations from the engine (especially under hard acceleration) will filter into the bodywork. I'm no mechanic so this is all guesswork on my part.
Hope you've found a solution so far.
