I've seen this thread: punto-evo/303381-16v-head-8v.html (Can't post full link as i haven't got 5 posts yet..) But it doesn't really answer my question.

I'm half tempted to put a 16v head on my 8v 1.4 Evo (N/A). I am then thinking of boosting it, along with new ECU, exhaust, intake.. etc etc.. Basically, make it a 1.4 16v Turbo without having to drop the entire engine, I'm also assuming it will be a lot cheaper to do it this way.. I've read that putting a 16v head on an 8v will drastically lower the compression ratios for the cylinders.. and would probably need new rods and pistons. Does anyone have any experience with this? and know if it's ever been done?

Cheers, Scott.
