Hey.. New to the forum and i need help..

I have a leak on the left hand side of my boot (only).. Took the plastic off where the rear left seat belt is but can't find where the leak is coming from as its behind the metal..

It looks like it's either the seal on the left hand side OR the left rear light maybe OR maybe not?!?

It's completely baffling me now, has anyone else had the same problem and shed some light on this problem? :bang:

Thanks in advance.... Rob :)

Hi, and welcome,:)
certainly not something we've seen much..but this is a quiet part of the forum,
SEARCH in the Grande section as it's basically the same car..,;)

I'd be tempted to tape some kitchen towel around the suspect area's, it'll go crinkly where it's seen water..,:)

there is always the chance of poor reassembly after work, have you had it long/ know it's history?

I will do, hopefully I'll find someone who has had the same problem!

I've had the car for about two years and not really noticed the leak before

To me it looks like the water is sneaking in between the rear light and rubber seal of the actual boot if that makes sense?

I'm in Blackpool so yeah kinda heavy rain in recent weeks.. Going to wait until a dry day then have another look I think..

Another possible cause could be the rear washer hose, they have a tendency to split inside the rubber bit in between the car and the boot (left hand side)

Hi, I have the same problem as you, I think it comes in where the seal on the rear light touches the body but does not seal properly, mine only leaks when its heavy rain normal showers nothing.
This is what I am going to do, remove the light and you can see where the seal sits on the body, put a bead of silicon around the top side of the mark where the seal sits, say, from 9oclock to 3oclock keep it a tad higher than the mark so when you put the light back the seal on the cluster does not stick in the silicone or you wont be able to take light cluster out in future for bulb changes, hopefully the water will run around the silicone and away without coming inside the car again.
