Just thought I'd show off my 1.4 Punto Evo 77hp. No performance modifications yet, only mod so far is rear tinted windows.

Hoping to then purchase 17inch alloys, haven't decided on going black or regular silver/chrome? Opinions welcomed. Would lowering it be a good option also?

Also thinking about purchasing a K&N air filter, worth it or not?

hi,
K+N won't add 40 horses.. but WILL save you money long tern on cleaner running , and reusable costs,

Charlie

Yeh I figured it would add around 3/4 hp? haha. Apparently it just delivers a better sound and smoother throttle response? Will deffo consider it for saving costs in the longrun

How about a bootlid spoiler? The standard fiat one is stylish and discreet.

A bootlid spoiler has been at the top of my list, althought the abarth one caught my eye, but may be too OTT.... so far the prices ive seen are around £190 before painting

The 1.4 8V is really a great engine, but not in performance way. Save you money and buy the 1.4 16V 105HP if you want more.
How the airbox is designed, you can put a standard filter, a k&n or what you want, it will not change 1HP.

But nice car, thanks for the pics ;)

The best thing is to swap filter I think.. the gain should be low and probably even not noticeable, but the cost is low, it can change a bit the noise and you can clean the filter.

Changing airbox will cost you to much for a very small gain too.
As I said, this engine is not designed for performance : with 8V, low cost exhaust manifold with integrated catalyst...

If performance is not what you need, for 3-4 times the cost of an airbox, you have the difference price of an 1.4 77HP and 1.4 105HP new car ! And the 6 speed gearbox incleded...

It's nothing ;)

It's just my opinion, generally it's far better to choose the car with the power you need, because price difference is a lot less than the cost of parts to change.
And engine is not all, other components are upgraded (brakes, gearbox, clutch, dampers / anti-roll bar, etc...)
