Does anyone else with the sporting multi-air engine experience this issue?
When starting the car from cold and driving off straight away mine is extremely sluggish and judders when driving along until it has warmed up slightly (once its warmed up it runs fine), if however you let the car idle for a few minutes before driving it, it runs perfectly… as it should.
When it was being serviced I reported the issue and was told that they had found a small oil leak letting oil into the sparkplugs, which the garage fixed, however the problem is still occurring.

Mine runs fine from cold, the only time I seemed to get an issue was when i switched to Tescos super unleaded and every time I got to 1500 rpm when accelerating in any gear I'd have a flat spot, switched fuels and the flat spot has gone.

Maybe you should ask yourself if they really did fix the problem? Take it back and tell them your having the same issues

There's an easy way of telling, whip off the coil pack and have a look!
Mine runs fine from cold. The only issue I have with mine is a rattle over bumps from the offside rear quarter that the dealer obviously can't replicate!

Yeah I have the same issue, have had it in a few times for it but they always say they can't find anything wrong with it which seems to be a stock answer to most of the niggly issues I have had.

Got the car back yesterday, thankfully they said they did experience the problem (for a change) and it was fixed by doing an ecu reset, software update and something about a multiair adjustment (don’t have the work sheet to hand just now). Car seems to be running ok today but only time will tell.

I have had this problem ever since the car had 2000 miles on the clock and i have had to live with it (now at 16k miles). The colder it is the worse it is too so you don't notice it so much in the summer months.

I had the "oil on the sparkplugs" line as well which once cleaned seemed to fix it for me for about 500 miles but since then everytime i put the car in i get a "we didn't experience the fault so we didn't investigate it". I have seriosly considered making a formal complaint to Fiat but could never be bothered.

Did you also have an occasional stalling when first pulling away from cold and occasional "kangaroo-ing" when moving at very slow speeds?

Can you please post exactly what the job sheet said as i would like to sort this out before the 2nd year warrenty expires,

Not had it stalling but yeah had the "kangaroo-ing" effect and “juddering”.
After a few minutes of ticking over the car would drive perfectly it only seemed to happen if you jumped it and drove it straight off.
Seems to be running better now but only time will tell.

The work sheet states as follows:
Update carried out, reconfigured gearbox, phonic wheel & multiair parameters, also carried out zeroing of self adaption parameters. Road tested in morning all ok.

Hope thats of some help (y)

Thanks, How has your car been since the repair? Is all still peachy?

I am going to have a word with my dealer with this information. If I get a "we didn't experience the problem so we didn't investigate" again then they will be getting no more business from me ever again.

So on friday morning my Multiair decided to do the most annoying type of stall (very violent judder and stall while moving at approx 2000rpm in 1st) in the morning. Then in the evening the engine seemed to be running on 3 cylinders on the first start. So i waited for the EODB error light to come on and then switched the engine off. When i started again it was back to normal.

Stopped by the Fiat garage on the way home to book it in (with an error code they have something to work with). Mentioned my cold running problems and how they have looked at it 3 times already and failed. Also mentioned this thread and asked them to do the 3 things listed previously and the service guy said: "we will only do that if we experience the fault otherwise we can't claim back from Fiat".

WTF? I am seriously worried about my 3rd year dealer warrenty now if that is how Tight they are.

If they do not fix my car this time i can see a very angry letter to fiat customer care being sent. If i don't, how the hell am i going to get this fixed????

Got my car back. When i dropped it in i left a note with as much detail as possible of the fault and i quoted TJ07's job sheet post. Seems to have done the trick as they performed a "flash update".

This morning seemed ok but a little too early to tell. Seems smoother in traffic queues too. Fingers crossed.

Thanks again TJ07, I think you might have saved my car.
