The black bumpers on the Mylife does anyone know if they can be retro fitted? I really like them think they look soo much better then the standard grey bits?

Does look nice. Not 100% sure but I think the whole bumper is one piece so you would need to order the whole rear and front bumpers and then paint them I would imagine. Alternatively you could paint them yourself. You would need to remove the bumpers, mask them off and paint them. Not sure what paint you would use to get such a deep Glossy Piano Black though.

Not sure i would attempt to do it myself lol! Could go seriously wrong!!

Just had a look at mine. It certainly looks like Fiat have used a gloss paint finish, and it looks like it is an insert, but cannot say for sure.

I would love to know this too

has anyone tried asking their local dealership if they can buy the parts in gloss?

also im not sure if it takes away from the sportiness of the car. I love having no black plastic parts (looked into having all mine vinyl'd) but am scared after looking at the one in my local dealers that the smoothness made it look too small. Strange i know it only became apparent to me when they were parked up together. May have been caused if there are any other differences at the front? (i have a sporting)

The problem with puting the gloss ones on is it will make your car look like the bottom of the range car. I actually quite like the matt ones as they are.

Yes, they can be fitted to any other Punto Evo. I know this because i went into my local fiat garage ordered my Gloss Black Front and Rear bumpers (which were surprisingly cheap for Fiat £50.27 +VAT for the rear, and £57.45 +VAT for the front) and then had them fitted within a day!

The only problem with it, is that the main part of the bumper (bit at the bottom is all gloss black) but the very top part; just beneath the badge is not. It's still looks really smart though so dont let me put you off.

Deffo worth it for the price though!

(I have to order another today because i hit a metal post the other day and cracked it!)

Hope this helped all!

Yeah you can definately get them seperate i work at fiat the system goes off your reg so if you didnt have a my life the system gives you the grey plastic ones, there just different part numbers, they look like they just clip in there just inserts into the front and rear bumpers strangely the rear one is £65.00 and the front's like £30 summat. thought the front one would be dearer cos its alot bigger but guess thats fiat for ya.
Mike :p

I have just been down to my local fiat garage to the parts department and they are shocking with their customer service!!! And have no idea about it said its possible but very expensive...not very helpful at all :(

You only need a chassis number from a MyLife to order the right parts. There'll be a MyLife in the showroom. Have a look under the bonnet.

The parts team should be able to locate the parts. But then again they might just be stoopid. Luckily my local Parts team is pretty cool.

Hey sian,
Might be easier to get a reg off a mylife of ebay or autotrader or anythin and when you ring up or go in give them that reg instead of your own, I actually work in parts for Manchester fiat i would help but essex is a bit far you to come up eh!
Mike

Forgot to mention there not that dear! I'll have a look tomorrow I had a look the other week cos i'm thinkin of gettin them for mine when i finally get it!... I'll have a look tomorrow and post prices on here :)

I have actually done this to my car! I brought the front and rear bumpers from the dealership... after pestering them for about 30mins until they actually got off their arses and went to a 'mylife' (in the showroom) and quoted some number from it to put into their computer.

If i remember rightly front was about £150 and rear £100ish so quite expensive for plastic. The best idea is to actually take the matt black ones to a body shop and get them sprayed gloss black! much cheaper!(y)... I know this because I had to get some other matt black bits around the car sprayed gloss black to match it.
