i have the same car and there is no button in my car either

only opens when you push the fiat button on back of car and with key

The Fiat badge on the boot is actually a button that you can push in to open the boot. (y)

ok ive just been out n it does open lol so i take it the fiat badge on my grande punto done the same n the 3 years i had the car i didnt even realise :s i wonder why i have a car sometimes haha

Pretty sure the boot button built into the badge is a new thing for the Evo, everyone who sticks stuff in my boot gets confused! lol

Its a pain you cant open the boot from inside the car without taking keys out of ignition, but i love the remote boot release :D

I thought it was a "option" for this boot badge ? or am im lying ?

p.s I have a button in the centre console

The Grande Puntos and the Punto Evo in Active trim have a solid Fiat boot badge and a button on the dash to open the boot, whereas all the other Punto Evo models lose the button on the dash and have the fancy Fiat badge that opens the boot instead.

Would think it costs just as much to put a dash button in the Active as it does to fit the boot badge/switch on all other models, so not sure why they go down the route of using different methods on different specs, but hey ho! :)

Just bought a 2011 punto evo active and noticed the rear boot emblum was solid. I do have the open boot option on the centre console and my keyfob. My question is can i purchase off fleebay a boot button and fit myself so ive got the option to open from the rear via the fiat badge opening method? presume the wiring harness is already in situ.....? Any help would be great. many thanks Ian

Check if the wiring is in place, I doubt it though as yours is an active - the most basic - so they would want to save as much money as possible in production. ie. No ££ spent on wires nor labour in fitting them if they aren't used.

yeah cheers pal, I've actually watched that video great tutorial. Only thing it doesn't tell me is if the wiring's there as this is a straight replacement for faulty unit:confused:

When it stops throwing water down ill strip the rear plastic cover off the boot lid and have a look. Will report back either way....thanks for the reply(y)

He unplugs the wiring while replacing it, plugged right into the back. Yeah take it off and have a look is probably best :)
