Hi guys! so at 107K km I've needed to do a rear brake job , rebonded shoes, light skim of the drums , new seals in the slaves etc.

Come to adjusting the cable which I don't think has ever been done before and I can't get the sodding cup holder out - I've removed the 3 nuts but there's summat holding the bugger near the front end.

I don't want to force it and break anything, any ideas?

Ok! So I found that there's a nut directly under the handbrake lever , duly removed and we're sorted!!

The handbrake trim and cup holder has three screws. One in each cup holder and another under the hand brake lever. Take them out and lift off the centre cover. You can now adjust the handbrake cables.

A good way to test hand brake balance (apart form viewing the balance bar) is pull on the brake on to just biting and reverse the car. The wheel which turns needs it's cable tightening at the adjuster.
